Haarlem Mill - UK / 2013 - 2016
2013-16 - Series of temporary artworks using sound, painting and light installation. The project was over three years responding to an industrial space as it evolved from derelict building to new business/art space. Haarlem Mill was one of Richard Arkwright's first mills where he explored how steam engines could be used for the first time in his new production methods the starting point for his innovations to come. I wanted to rethink how new technology could be used to revive traditional making process but with a more sustainable approach of recyling and reusing, most of the work done over the time in the space was traditional installation of various kinds, it was only after the project had finished that the true impact of this experimental work became clear to me with the pulp66 project. https://www.timhaynes.eu/Pulp66/
