Parklife - 2016 - 2017

My application to join the local town council was a creative decision not political one, I wanted to use creative process to make new connections and propose new solutions to the same old problems of no money for green spaces and play ares, it evolved into a wider involvement in improving local infrastructure and collaboration between different local and regional councils, one of three projects exploring artistic process that does not have the expected outcome of an artwork or exhibition.

Working with Darley Dale Town Council - 2016/17
Developed play area proposal - introduced Youth Group policies together with digitalised council meetings and groups. Encouraged a more progressive Neighbourhood Plan with a view to a rejuvenated Town area around the Whitworth Centre with new traffic light system and pedestrian area to help ease traffic congestion and introduce new infrastructure before new housing developments in line with Local Plan. Improving links with the Derbyshire Dales District Council encouraging a collaborative approach to local government, involving more diversity in the council and its committees.
FIELD
Proposal to build live,work, spaces for all ages in Matlock, Derbyshire.
Proposal to build a play area when the developers failed to do so when building local housing estate.
One of the proposed derelict sites to be reused as a possible play/community area.
Why not use a corner of the fields for the local children to have a play area - spare land or land banking?
